Today I’m wondering how many Springfield* Lanes there are.

London, Weybridge, Newbury, Fleet, Horsham, Ipswich, Wolverhampton, Rowley Regis, Morley, Peterborough, Grantham, Birmingham, Salford and more**…..

I wonder about the people who live there. If they were all in a room together would they talk about the bins? Would parking be an issue? How far are they from the city centre?  Are they all having flats built next to them? Is anyone happy about that? Are there enough places for children? Are there any dogs? Are there any children? Are there any artists living there? Do their front gardens look the same?  Can they see squirrels? Do they have big windows? Who’s lived there the longest? Are the houses new or old? Are they eco-friendly? How many storeys are there? How many stories are there?  Do they have gardens? Have they been divided into flats? Is there a fence that runs round the whole thing? Do they worry about the people from the other side of the river? Are they near a river? Has anyone graffitied on their electrical box? Has someone kicked their letterbox off? How much did the houses cost? Did anyone invite the neighbours to their housewarming? Do Dominos deliver there? Or might you just as well walk? Is it a development or do they call it an estate? Or is it just another street? Why is it called Springfield Lane? Was there a cotton mill there? Is there a pub nearby? Is it a nice pub?  Has anyone died around there recently? Did they leave someone behind? Are they still living in the house? Do they have a cleaner? Which way do they face?
